Our Mission
At ArtStudio, our mission is to Showcase the work of Alfred Schwartz. What fascinates him the most is the idea of art as a form of language. Like language, visual expression operates through layers.
In my paintings this structure often appears as a field of squares. The viewer first encounters the overall image, then the relationships between adjacent squares that build coherence across the surface. Finally, each square must justify its presence—functioning both as part of the larger composition and a statement unto its self.
